Respect for Property

Students should, at all times, show proper regard for the property of others and for Harvard University property. Students may not engage in activities that damage or endanger University property including classrooms, laboratories, residential areas, libraries, and library materials. For example, they may not enter a vacant suite or room except in an emergency; they may not climb on scaffolding, walls, or roofs of University buildings; nor may they throw balls, Frisbees, or other projectiles, engage in other sports, or play boisterous games in or around any University building, including Harvard Yard and the House courtyards. Instances of theft, misappropriation, or unauthorized use of or damage to property or materials not one’s own will ordinarily result in disciplinary action, including requirement to withdraw from the Summer School. In addition, students may be charged for any damage done to University buildings or other University property.
