Arrival to Campus Housing
- Travel to campus should be scheduled so that you can move in during regular move-in hours.
- Early arrival and check-in are not permitted, so plan your travel arrangements accordingly.
- If a student is delayed due to forces outside their control (e.g., weather), they must contact their program to request approval to arrive late. Regardless of circumstances, all students must be checked-in to their summer housing assignment by the following times:
- General Program residents must arrive by 4:00 PM on the first Wednesday of their first week of classes.
- Pre-College Program students must arrive by curfew (10:59 PM) on the first Monday of their session, or else they are unable to participate in their session.
- Secondary School Program residents must arrive by 4:00 PM on the first Wednesday of their first week of classes.
- If a student is not checked into their housing assignment by the aforementioned dates, the student will revoke their housing agreement and accrue all associated fees (housing and/or program costs). If a student wishes to financially appeal, they must file an official housing appeal to housing@summer.harvard.edu, however there is no guarantee that their appeal will be approved.
Departure from On-Campus Housing
- Students must move out of their summer assignment after they have taken their final exams and/or attended their last class meetings.
- Student ID cards and access to the residences will expire at these times.
- Specific guidelines for departing on-campus housing will be distributed to students the week before their departure.
- Students who move out of on-campus housing before these guidelines have been distributed should speak with their proctor about checkout procedures, including where to turn in their room keys.
- Students who do not turn in keys or turn in uncoded keys at the end of the summer may be billed for lock replacement at a cost of $100.
- Students must leave their rooms in the condition in which they found them and must remove all personal belongings, including trash, at the time of departure.
- Students registered for consecutive sessions are not required to move out between sessions.
